The “Mukhyamantri Kanya Utthan Yojana” initiated by the Bihar government is a commendable step towards empowering women and girls by promoting their education. Under this scheme, approximately 1.5 crore girls will benefit, with each family being able to avail support for a maximum of two daughters.

The scheme provides financial assistance for the purchase of sanitary napkins and school/college uniforms. Additionally, the Bihar government has extended the application deadline for the scheme until March 31, 2024, allowing more eligible students to apply.

Under the “Mukhyamantri Kanya Utthan Yojana,” Bihar government will provide a sum of Rs. 50,000 to girls from birth until they obtain their graduation degree, disbursed in installments. This will not only foster their education but also empower them to contribute positively to society.

The scheme’s benefits will reach approximately 1.5 crore girls, providing economic assistance to their families as well. Moreover, it aims to curb child marriages and encourage girls to pursue higher education.

Through this scheme, the Bihar government sends a significant social message – that every girl deserves a bright future and should have access to higher education. This will not only foster the development of girls but also benefit the entire state.
